It’s almost that time of year, and we’re ready. Good food, friends, family and football…it’s hardly shocking that as a nation we eagerly await the Super Bowl every year. In today’s post, we have some top tips for ensuring your party runs smoothly, guests are happy, and you feel good. Let us know if there’s anything you’d add to this list!
1. Stock plenty to drink (and lots of ice!)
Beer is going to be the main drink of the day, so purchase a variety and ensure you have enough cooler space. You could also look into getting a keg if you’re hosting a large crowd! Ice and non-alcoholic options are also essential for those not taking part in the beer drinking. Don’t forget plenty of bottle openers.
2. Food essentials.
With a Super Bowl party comes the high expectations for classic game day food. Here’s your checklist: wings (most likely buffalo), nachos, potato skins, chili, deviled eggs, pigs in a blanket, sliders, hot dogs, pizza and…
Specifically, 7-layer dip. What could possibly be better than guacamole layered with beans, tomatoes, sour cream, cheese, olives, and green onions? Check out this super simple recipe here. It’s non-negotiable to provide this for your guests. Buffalo chicken and spinach artichoke dips are always winners too!
4. Decor delights
NFL home decorations are a great way to lift the party spirit and get into the game. For example, use our small garden statues as table centerpieces or welcome your guests with your favorite teams’ floor mat.
5. Seating for all
Every guest should have somewhere to sit, even if that means big pillows and piles of blankets on the floor to accomodate. Make the area cozy and comfortable for everyone.
6. Spread the snacks
People will want to chat, so ensure you have a space away from the screen for this. Usually your kitchen will be the spot, so make sure there are plenty of snacks there too!
Guaranteed you will get through a LOT of napkins at your party for wiping hands, holding snacks, drinks, spillages…the list goes on. Make sure you’re prepared, and even better, why not use our party-ready felt napkin holders for extra decor AND functionality?
Bonus Tip- Don’t forget the commercials!
Even more reason to have a separate space for chatting- many people wait for these commercials so make sure you and all other guests respect that as much as the game!
Last, even as the host, relax and enjoy yourself. Nothing makes guests feel more comfortable than a happy host! Enjoy!
